Session Overview
In this updated Setting Fundamentals 2.0 tutorial, Coach Donny teaches the complete biomechanics of overhead setting. He covers the right-foot-forward setting stance, efficient left-right footwork into the ball, ball-shaped hand spacing above the forehead, and balanced wrist extension.
Core Biomechanical & Tactical Principles
- Arrive at the ball with a balanced right-foot-slightly-forward stance and hands raised early above the forehead.
- Shape your hands to mirror the contour of the volleyball so all ten finger pads—not the palms—contact the ball.
- Extend through the wrists and elbows with equal pressure from both hands to produce a clean, spin-free set.
