Hitting Five shots every great hitter should master
N
Nabil Mardini • The Art of Coaching Volleyball
Pierce College & Club Head Volleyball Coach
Session Overview
Coach Nabil Mardini breaks down the five essential attacking shots every pin hitter must master to score consistently against tall blocks: hard cross-court, sharp cut shot, down-the-line swing, high-hands tool, and deceptive off-speed roll or tip.
Core Biomechanical & Tactical Principles
- Develop both a power cross-court swing and a sharp thumb-down cut shot to exploit seams and open court in front of the 10-foot line.
- Keep the ball slightly out in front of your hitting shoulder so you can turn your wrist down the line or wipe off the outside blocker's hands.
- Maintain an identical aggressive approach and high arm draw when executing off-speed roll shots or tips into deep corners.
