Coach Koko • KoKo Volley

Session Overview
Coach Koko teaches beginner and intermediate hitters how to hit the volleyball harder over the net by breaking the arm swing into digestible steps. She focuses on the bow-and-arrow draw, using the non-hitting guide hand to track the ball, and snapping the wrist for downward drive.
Core Biomechanical & Tactical Principles
- Point your non-hitting guide hand at the ball to track its flight and establish proper hitting distance.
- Pull your hitting elbow straight back like drawing a bow string before rotating your shoulder forward.
- Contact the ball at your highest reach point and snap your wrist downward so the spike clears the net and dives in.
Verbal Coaching Cues for Practice:
"Point at the ball with your guide hand""Pull the bow and arrow""Reach high and snap down"
Why Recommended for Coaches:
Great beginner-friendly breakdown that demystifies the arm swing for youth and middle-school attackers.
