Session Overview
Coach Donny breaks down spiking arm-swing mechanics in Part 1 of his hitting series, covering the upward lift of both arms on takeoff, the high elbow draw, torso rotation, and snapping over the ball at peak reach.
Core Biomechanical & Tactical Principles
- Raise both arms up in front of the torso during takeoff before drawing the hitting elbow back.
- Open the chest and hips to the setter in the air, then initiate the forward swing with core rotation.
- Contact the ball at your highest reach slightly in front of the hitting shoulder with a relaxed, snapping wrist.
