Session Overview
The 'Family Feud' 6v6 drill begins with a net joust; the winning side receives consecutive free balls and attempts to score 7 points before the defense records 3 stops ('strikes') to earn a single-serve chance to steal all 7 points.
Core Biomechanical & Tactical Principles
- Start each round with a competitive net joust to determine which side earns the offensive free-ball series.
- The offensive team must convert free balls into 7 points before the opposing defense records 3 stops ('three strikes').
- If the defense gets 3 stops, they send a server back for one high-pressure 'steal' point worth all 7 banked points.
Verbal Coaching Cues for Practice:
"Win the joust to control the free balls""Three defensive stops earns the steal""Execute under pressure on the steal serve"
Why Recommended for Coaches:
One of the most engaging competitive 6v6 games for training both free-ball offensive execution and relentless defensive ‘steal’ mentality.
