Session Overview
Filmed live at a youth clinic, collegiate libero Delaney Moon walks athletes through the step-by-step footwork, toss timing, and hand contact of the jump float serve. She demonstrates both slow-motion footwork rehearsals and live full-speed serves.
Core Biomechanical & Tactical Principles
- Rehearse the four-step approach and toss rhythm without hitting first so the feet and hands sync naturally.
- Keep the toss low and controlled in front of the hitting shoulder so you don't have to chase the ball sideways in mid-air.
- Hit the middle of the ball with a flat, firm hand and land balanced on both feet inside or near the baseline.
Verbal Coaching Cues for Practice:
"Step, toss, right-left""Keep the toss in front""Firm flat hand"
Why Recommended for Coaches:
Shows how to teach the jump float progression to youth players in a live camp setting with clear verbal cues.
