Session Overview
Coach Donny outlines a 4-step tactical framework for making smart setting decisions at every level of volleyball. He explains how setters should evaluate pass quality, identify their available offensive options, read the opposing blockers, and feed the highest-percentage matchup in crunch time.
Core Biomechanical & Tactical Principles
- Step 1 & 2: Read the pass quality first and know which hitters are actually available in the current rotation.
- Step 3: Establish the middle quick early on in-system passes to freeze the opposing middle blocker and create 1-on-1 pin matchups.
- Step 4: Track which hitters are hot and which opposing blockers are weak, then trust your go-to scorer above point 20.
