Session Overview
In this live 1-on-1 coaching lesson, Coach Donny helps an athlete fix one of the most common serve-receive issues: passing the ball either too low and forward or too high and off the net. By adjusting her stance, spacing from the ball, and shoulder tilt, she learns to pass both forward and high with effortless control.
Core Biomechanical & Tactical Principles
- Create proper spacing between your hips and the ball so you don't get jammed and pop the pass straight up.
- Maintain a forward shoulder lean while keeping the platform angled around 45 degrees to send the ball both high and forward.
- Transfer weight smoothly forward through the legs on slower serves rather than swinging the arms.
Verbal Coaching Cues for Practice:
"Keep space in front of your hips""Shoulders forward, platform angled""High and forward to target"
